Balasore, 27/12 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The 29th Foundation Day of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) was celebrated with enthusiasm and grandeur at Langaleswar by the Basta Assembly Constituency unit of the party.
Addressing the gathering, Basta MLA Subasini Jena said that it was due to the love, trust, and support of the people of Basta and Baliapal that she has been able to represent the constituency in the Odisha Legislative Assembly. Expressing her gratitude, she affirmed that she would remain devoted to the service of the people of Basta and Baliapal till her last breath.
Former Member of Parliament Rabindra Kumar Jena, who attended the programme as a guest, said that in the coming days various initiatives would be taken to ensure better civic amenities and overall welfare of the people of Basta and Baliapal. The programme was presided over by Gobinda Prasad Das, President of the Baliapal Block BJD.
Among those present were District BJD Vice-President Barada Prasanna Pattanaik, senior party leaders Chakradhar Giri, Bhagaban Giri, Lakshmidhar Das, Sarat Pradhan, Pradeep Biswal, Subrat Panda, Ajay Samal, Maheswar Jena, Deb De, Mahadev Das, Ajay Patra, Mrutyunjay Nayak, Zilla Parishad Member Benudhar Jena, and Basta Block Women’s BJD President Lipika Raul. The speakers emphasised the need to further strengthen the organisational structure of the Biju Janata Dal in the days ahead.
A large number of sarpanches, samiti members, and active party workers from all panchayats of the Basta and Baliapal blocks attended the programme, making the event a grand success.
As part of the Foundation Day observance, MLA Subasini Jena visited the tribal hamlet at Baniadihi Panchayat, where she distributed blankets among the local residents, reflecting the party’s commitment to social welfare and grassroots service.
