After an illustrious career spanning two decades across national and international media platforms, senior journalist Shri Vijay Kumar Das is set to assume charge as Executive Editor of The Kalinga Chronicle and Paryabekhyak Group.
Before taking up this new responsibility, Shri Das had been actively associated with Odia media as a columnist, contributing insightful analysis on contemporary issues. He began his journalism career in 2005 with the English daily The Pioneer and subsequently worked with several leading national media organisations, including the India Today Group, IANS, NewsX, and News18, gaining wide-ranging experience in print, television, and digital journalism.
Shri Das later served as Head of Output at the Zee Odisha Group of Institutions, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening editorial content, newsroom processes, and broadcast standards. Adding an international dimension to his professional journey, he also worked with the British online newspaper The Independent in Mauritius.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal, Shri Das completed his journalism education during the 2004–05 academic session and began his professional career in New Delhi. With nearly 20 years of rich and diverse experience across multiple media platforms, he brings with him deep editorial insight, strategic vision, and strong leadership.
Media observers believe that his appointment will significantly enhance the reach, credibility, and editorial standards of The Kalinga Chronicle and Paryabekhyak Group, setting new benchmarks in journalism in Odisha.
