Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has taken a strict stance on government employees, who default on court-ordered maintenance and alimony payments to their wives and children, mandating that such amounts be directly deducted from their monthly salaries.During every complaint hearing conducted by the Chief Minister, an average of two to three such matters were reaching the complaint cell. Even after clear directions from various courts following legal proceedings, these employees have been ignoring their obligations. In response, the Chief Minister has ordered that the required amounts be deducted from the salaries of the concerned employees and provided to the rightful recipients. He stated that it is completely unacceptable for a state government employee to show contempt of court and to treat his wife and children with such injustice,” a CMO release said.
