Pottangi (KCN):
Reaffirming the Odisha Government’s commitment to inclusive development and welfare in border regions, a joint administrative field visit was conducted in several border villages of Kotia. The visit was led by Block Development Officer Sri Ramakrushna Nayak, Tahasildar Pottangi Sri Debendra Dharua, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Kotia Sri Saurabh Dash, along with the Sarpanch of Kotia Gram Panchayat, Sri Liu Gemel.

As part of the outreach programme, the newly constructed Community Hall at Neridivalsa was inaugurated by the Sarpanch. The facility is expected to serve as a key community asset, facilitating social, cultural and developmental activities, while strengthening collective participation among villagers in this remote border area.
The officials also visited schools and Anganwadi centres at Neridivalsa, Dhulipadar and Upper Sembi, where they interacted with students, children, teachers and Anganwadi workers. Discussions focused on quality education, nutrition, health and holistic child development, with special emphasis on the challenges faced by children in border and tribal habitations. The dedicated efforts of teachers and Anganwadi workers serving under difficult geographical conditions were appreciated by the visiting team.

The field visit underscored the administration’s resolve to strengthen last-mile delivery of government services, enhance public infrastructure and build confidence among residents of the Kotia border villages. Continued administrative engagement, officials noted, is vital to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every citizen while reinforcing trust and a sense of belonging within Odisha’s governance framework.
