Bhubaneswar, July 18, 2026:
The Citizens’ Human Rights Clinic (CHRC), Odisha, successfully organized the Certificate & Award Ceremony for the Summer Internship students of Rama Devi Women’s University at the Conference Hall of Red Cross Bhavan, Bhubaneswar. The programme witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries, academicians, faculty members, and students, making the occasion both memorable and inspiring.

The ceremony was graced by Shri Prithviraj Harichandan, Hon’ble Minister for Law, Works & Excise, Government of Odisha, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he congratulated the students on the successful completion of their internship and urged them to uphold the values of justice, constitutional rights, and social responsibility in their future careers.
Dr. Rabinarayan Senapati, IAS (Retd.), Former Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary & State Election commissioner,Government of Odisha, attended as the Special Guest and Chief Speaker. He emphasized the importance of human rights education, ethical leadership, and active citizen participation in strengthening democratic institutions.

The programme was also graced by Dr. Pabitra Mohan Samantaray, National President of Indian federation of small & Medium Newspapers, National media confederation, Rashtriya PATRAKAR MAHASANGH, New Delhi and Editor in chief, Odia Daily PARYABEKHYAK & English Daily The Kalinga CHRONICLE as the Eminent Guest, and Shri Basanta Kumar Behera, Head, Department of Political Science, Rama Devi Women’s University, as the Guest of Honour. Both speakers appreciated the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by the interns and stressed the need for greater youth participation in promoting human rights awareness and safeguarding democratic values.
The function was presided over by Dr. Gopabandhu Mallick, IPS (Retd.), Chairman, CHRC, Odisha, who commended the students for their commitment throughout the internship programme and reaffirmed CHRC’s mission of promoting human rights education, legal awareness, and community engagement.
The programme was conducted by Advisor Prof. (Dr.) Niranjan Barik and efficiently coordinated by Mr. Basant Kumar Dash, Vice President, CHRC, Odisha, ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
Certificates and awards were presented to the Summer Internship students in recognition of their sincere participation, dedication, and successful completion of the internship programme.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Smt. Banashree Mahapatra, Head of the Women’s Wing, CHRC, Odisha, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, organizers, students, media representatives, and all those who contributed to the success of the programme.
