Jagatsinghpur: A routine anti-narcotics operation in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district turned violent late Saturday night when a suspected drug syndicate allegedly attempted to run over a police team near College Chhak, leaving a constable critically injured.Acting on a specific tip-off regarding the movement of narcotics traffickers in the area, a police team attempted to halt a speeding vehicle during night patrol for inspection. Instead of stopping, the driver deliberately ploughed into the cops. Police constable Nityananda Senapati was struck by the vehicle and sustained severe injuries. He was immediately rushed to the Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
